cake with pears, lime and pecan nuts

This combination is perfect, trust me! Moist of pear, crunchy of pecan nut, fresh zing of lime… so good:-)

I made a Pastry pictures course.. of course!

I’m not a photographer and I’ve never took a lot of pictures in vacation.. so when I started this blog I had to enter in magic world of photography without any skill or passion! As you can see my pictures are not so professional, and pictures of beginning are so bad! Last week I made a flash pastry photography course in Le Cordon Bleu in Paris and it was really interesting and useful.. I’ll try harder now! Here some pictures of backstage..

schiacciata alla fiorentina

My friend Simone is almost a Chef and this weekend he decided to teach me recipe of schiacciata alla fiorentina, a traditional cake from Florence that they use to bake for Carnevale period. Its not far from a brioche and very similar to tarte à la tropezienne (from St Tropez) as we say in Italy “tutto il mondo é paese!”

Sablé nantais

This is a traditional French sablé. Is very simple and good, but I had a little problem with my oven that day (poor oven too much work) and so their look is not exactly how it should be! Next time I’ll try harder..

Chestnut madeleines

I love madeleines, so spongy and delicately perfumed are the perfect treat for your afternoon tea.. this time I put half white flour and half chestnut flour, is a autumn Madeleine, a gourmand way to celebrate the extraordinary chestnut!
